If you have been following my blog you may of looked at my “Stitchsharing” guides for both a Mini Pinny and the Maid’s Apron (part of my Magenta’s Rocky Horror Fancy dress costume). Both patterns can be easily adapted to give you various looks.
Take a look!
Here’s my Mini Pinny in a different fabric:
A bigger version of The Maids Apron with a frilly edge:
You can make the frill by hand, sewing machine or on an overlocker.
Add a trapesium shaped bib, pocket and some applique for a Full Pinny with a Super Hero influence:
Go even further and add a frill to the sides of the Bib:
Or try a different bib shape like this heart:
You could use a combination of fabrics to make the ties:
If you keep your neck ties long they are easy to adjust and can either be tied in a bow around your neck or tied with your waist band for a different look:
What other ideas do you have for making your pinny / apron truly unique?
(Psst….incase you are wondering, the Pinny’s are some of my craft fair makes!)
They all look great. Do they take you a long time?
The full Pinnys each took about an hour to make and the mini Pinnys a little less as I needed to think about the designs as i wanted to make each one unique. So pleased you like them. X
Wow, that’s quick. I think it might take me a bit longer! But probably not as long as I would have thought which is good. Thanks
Love the green and pink, it looks pretty and retro.
Thank you. Was thinking of giving each Pinny a name, what would you call her?
I really like the Batman apron. All of them look great but I’d be worried to wear them as I’d make a mess of them.
They were as much fun to make as wear! Machine washable! Was thinking of even wearing one out as part of my next fancy dress costume! X
Loving the super hero inspired ones. Coming from a house of boys I am obviously influenced!!
Thank you. x
