…….. flowers
…….and bras have in common?
It’s The MoonWalk London
The MoonWalk London is a 26 mile power walk (a marathon!!!) that takes place overnight in May. You basically walk through the streets of London in your bra to raise money and awareness of breast cancer.
With so many of us touched by cancer, my friends and I have taken on The MoonWalk challenge as a positive way to celebrate the courage of those who have survived, are currently fighting or have unfortunately lost their battle with cancer.
Before the walk, those infamous bras need to be decorated – this is where we need your help!
In true “Stitch Sharing” spirit, it would be fantastic if you would be kind enough to make a flower (e.g. knit, crochet, felt or sew) that we can stitch to our bras.
Your flowers will be worn with great pride and your “wishes, memories and thoughts” carried with us as we take on our MoonWalk London Marathon.
My local library has kindly offered to act as a collection point which is fantastic news – thank you! So, if you would like to make and send a flower to celebrate someone special please send them to the address below by the end of April 2014.
The Stitch Sharer, c/o Bognor Regis Library, London Road, Bognor Regis, West Sussex, England, PO21 1DE.
To help us raise as much awareness as possible about The MoonWalk please share this post with your friends via Facebook, Twitter, other forms of social media!
If you would like to donate any money for this fantastic cause please pop along to either my MoonWalk or our Team’s online donation site. Thank you!!!
