With this being my 50th post I would like to start by thanking you for taking the time to read my stitchy blog and sending in your fabulous feedback. I am humbled each time a comment or ‘like’ appears and it is your encouragement that motivates me to pick up those needles and keep my stitching dreams alive.
Before I get very excited over our 2013 ventures, I thought it would be the prefect time to share with you a summary of makes to date. If you would like more information on any of the projects just click on the photo and ‘as if by magic’ you will find yourself at the original post.
Has anyone had a go with the Zpagetti yarn yet? I found it in my local yarn store for £9.99 for 120m (approx 850g) and it is made from fashion industry left over material. As it’s designed for jumbo crochet, you will need quite a big hook, mine was 12mm, and before you know you’ll have made yourself a gorgeous creation in no time.
With the festive time upon us I’ve spent the last week making some Christmas Crochet Snowflakes. This is going to be a tried and tested post as I wanted to try out a variety of different patterns. I have taken these photos before the snowflakes are ‘blocked’ into their final shape so you can see how they turn out.
My first snowflake was made using Lucy’s Attic 24 snowflake pattern.
It was the quickest crochet snowflake pattern I tried to make and I love the pointed ends created by the chain stitches. Continue reading
I have recently tried out my first amigurumi makes – a cute Halloween Pumpkin. It’s based on the instructions in Annie Obaachan’s “Scary Cute” book which are really easy to follow – I have also put together this ‘tried and tested’ guide to help if you fancy a try.
As the pumpkin is made from a straight piece of crochet, it starts with a simple starting chain. Continue reading
